Case Study
Travelling upfront in my wheelchair access car, I can see more out of the windows and I don’t feel like I am in a confined space
“I applied to Motability for a wheelchair access car last year. I was given a Motability Grant which covered the cost of the Advance Payment and I received my brand-new Sirus Ford Upfront on 4th December last year. It is Magnetic Grey and has cruise control.
Travelling Upfront in my Wheelchair Access Car
I travel upfront as a passenger which is so much better than being in the back. I can see more out the windows, I don’t feel like I am in a confined space like I did when I travelled in the back of my old wheelchair access car. Also as I am a softly spoken person and struggle with my hearing it is nice to be able to have a conversation with the driver through the journey.
Entering and Exiting From the Side
Being side-entry makes it so much easier, you don’t have to worry about someone parking too close or walking around the back like most wheelchair access cars when the tailgate opens. Also because the floor is flat throughout it is a lot easier to drive my wheelchair into place and this makes the journey much smoother.
Boot Space for Shopping
As the Sirus Ford is a side entry vehicle, it’s easy for us to put items such as shopping or bags in the boot and not have to worry about moving them when I need to get out as I used to in my last wheelchair access car.
Sirus Service
The Sirus team has been very helpful throughout the process and have always said to ring them if I have any problems or questions”.
