The All-New Sirus VW Caddy 5 

Based on the same elements that underpin the VW Golf, this is the first time the VW Caddy Maxi Life has ever shared its basic engineering with passenger car models. It has more digital functions and greater comfort than ever before.

Conversion Features

With years of knowledge and experience, we have created the ultimate conversion, ergonomically designed to provide optimum levels of comfort and space. Precision engineering and expertise have enabled us to design a flat, lowered floor conversion that offers an exceptional driving position.

Drive and Transfer Internally

You can enter the vehicle from the rear, secure your wheelchair safely inside the vehicle and transfer across to a standard VW driver’s seat. This means you can enjoy travelling from an OEM seat without transferring by the roadside.

Entering and Exiting the VW Caddy WAV

Our rear entry conversion allows easy access to the driving position. The benefit of rear entry is you can park in a standard parking space and don’t need a disabled parking bay to get in and out.

Fully Automated Tailgate and Ramp

Our VW Caddy WAV is designed with an automated tailgate and ramp, ensuring complete independence.  The key fob opens the tailgate and ramp and you can safely enter the vehicle using the shallow ramp. Once you are comfortably in the driver position, simply press a button on the dashboard or the key fob and the tailgate and ramp will close.

Low, Anti-Slip Ramp

Our automated ramp is below 11 degrees, ensuring you can enter and exit with ease. The ramp is designed with an anti-slip coating, improving wheel traction in wet weather. The interior floor of the vehicle is also designed with an anti-slip material. We can fit bespoke grab rails should you require that extra help.

Seating and Storage

The vehicle is fitted with a powered six-way seat base that moves up and down, forwards and backwards and rotates 90 degrees. (please note, the picture shows a six-way seat in the Ford Connect for demonstration purposes).

As standard, there is space for the driver and one front passenger.  There is space in the rear to fit one or two additional fold-down seats, giving you space for up to four people. We can also fit bespoke solutions to secure any equipment or shopping. Please ask us about our adaptations service.

Securing Your Wheelchair

Your wheelchair will be safely secured behind the front passenger seat either with straps or an automated wheelchair locking system, depending on your chair. We can discuss the options with you on your demonstration. Watch our demonstration video.

Travel Upfront Next to the Driver

If and when you don’t want to drive, you can remove the front passenger seat and secure your wheelchair in the front passenger position. The seat can be removed as it is on castors, so no lifting is required.

New Technology

The new model is equipped with a wide range of technology, media system and safety upgrades. The vehicle is well-equipped with an ultra-digital and closely integrated high-resolution digital cockpit, an infotainment system with an 8.25inch touchscreen. The ‘Innovision’ digital dash has a configurable electronic display replacing standard dials. Volkswagen We Connect brings a wealth of extras, and the free app turns your smartphone into a remote control.

Easy Functionality

If your hands are occupied, you can now talk to your new Caddy. The clever Voice Control System allows you to use voice commands to answer phone calls, select a radio station or set a navigation destination. Even the 2-zone Climate control air conditioning system listens to your commands. (Optional at extra cost).

 Partly Automated Driving

The latest generation of driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Travel Assist with Emergency Assist, and lane change system Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert.  (Optional at extra cost).

New Body Shape

The Caddy Maxi Life is designed to look slick and sporty. It features slimline light designs, and a distinctive crease along the body side. High-tech features include LED head and taillamps and there’s also a large panoramic glass sunroof.

 Improved Safety Features

There are 19 driver assistance systems available as standard or optional equipment, six of which are entirely new. Standout features include Travel Assist, the autonomous driving assistant which can steer, brake and accelerate for you. There’s also a driver alertness monitor which reminds you to keep your hands on the wheel.

Petrol Engine & Reduced Co2 Emissions

The petrol engine is a 116hp 1.5-litre unit that comes with a particulate filter to cut pollution. The petrol engine comes with a DSG dual-clutch seven-speed automatic gearbox.
