WAV vehicle builder / coach builder
We are recruiting a WAV vehicle builder / coach builder. The successful candidate will have experience or can be trained in stripping, cutting and rebuilding vehicles for the mobility automotive sector. Use of power tools and welding will be required as part of the job role. This role is based in Wednesbury and working 40 hours per week. Mon-Thurs 6.00-4.30pm.
Rate of pay : £12.50phr – £14.50phr according to experience.

Duties include but not limited to:
- All types of welding to a high standard
- Remove & refit structural parts.
- Assembly of sub frames
- Refitting of interiors . inc. wheelchair access ramps.
- Wheelchair access vehicle bodybuilding
Your Tasks
• Deconstruct / construct and assemble vehicle bodies, including panels, frames, Interiors , underbody and other structural components.
• Strip a standard vehicle chassis to re build a WAV vehicle chassis .
• Follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise and accurate assembly.
• Use various power tools ,welding equipment and cutting machinery to complete tasks.
• Inspect and test completed vehicles to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to improve efficiency and solve technical challenges.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Your Profile
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Bodybuilder or use of welding, power tool and metal fabrication knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Holder of a recognised apprenticeship qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ 3) would be an advantage.
