Driving from your wheelchair

If you are a wheelchair user and you would like to drive, Sirus are the UK’s leading converter of drive from wheelchair vehicles.  Since we began in 2004, we have worked with thousands of drive from wheelchair customers, providing freedom and independence. Our bespoke adaptations service ensures your drive from wheelchair vehicle is perfectly suited to you.

You have complete independence

Our conversions are designed so you can get in and out of the vehicle safely and unassisted.

You do not have to transfer

Although this is an option we do provide, it may not be for you. If you do not have the ability to transfer unassisted, or just prefer to save your energy, this is the right solution for you.

You no longer have to travel in the back

We meet many customers who really struggle with travelling in the rear of a vehicle. Often sitting on the rear axle, this can be an extremely bumpy ride which can be very uncomfortable, unsociable and can cause travel sickness.

The Motability Scheme

The majority of our customers use the Motability Scheme, the largest scheme for disabled people in Europe. A not-for-profit organisation, it provides help and funding towards cars, car adaptations, wheelchair accessible vehicles, driving adaptations, powered wheelchairs and scooters. If you receive Higher Rate Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) you are entitled to use the Scheme.

Motability Five Year Lease

Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available on a minimum five-year lease. Your agreement includes insurance, breakdown assistance, servicing and maintenance. With any wheelchair accessible vehicle there is an upfront payment which will have to be made, followed by your monthly DLA or PIP.

Motability Grants

Many of our customers apply to Motability for a grant and receive help towards the Advance Payment as well as any adaptations required. We can help you through this process, giving you help and advice throughout your journey with us. Speak to our mobility specialists for more advice.
